The Shore Rovers Committee would like to farewell the following people from their roles.
Nicola McConchie – Vice President & Operations Lead
Nic has decided to step down from committee after the birth of her gorgeous son Lennox. Nic has been a wonderful member of our committee for 9 years leading the Operation sub-committee which deals with all uniforms, equipment and merchandise. Nic has been extremely valuable to the committee with her legal knowledge, especially when it comes to the work on our constitution. We have greatly valued Nic’s support in running this fabulous club and can’t wait to see her back on court next year.
Anna Duncan –Operations sub-committee and Coach
Anna has been on the committee for 6 years and coach for 8 years and a coordinator of Team White over those years too. Anna is a tireless worker and will generally pick up anything that is asked. Anna is a great club member, and we look forward to still seeing her around the courts playing or hanging around with Team White. Anna has put a great number of hours into coaching our young entry-level players which we will always be grateful for. These teams are often plagued by commitment levels but Anna did her best to field a team each week especially over the past few years! Anna received her 10 year badge in 2021 and was a recipient of the President’s Award in 2016.
Olivia Rea – Coach
Liv is stepping away from coaching after doing a fabulous job for the past 10 years. Liv was a core part of our coaching team and certainly one of the best when it came to bringing a team together and keeping them unified no matter what. Liv had a big heart for her team and it showed by the respect that her teams gave back to her. She put 100% into every team she coached and every game they played. Liv’s departure will leave a huge gap in our coaching group, but we wish her well in all future endeavours. Liv was a recipient of the Personality of the Year Trophy in 2013, President’s Award in 2015 and Coach of the Year Trophy in 2016.
Joanna Opai – Committee & Manager
Joanna joined Shore Rovers in 2005 as a player and has held numerous roles on the SR Committee over the past 9 years, including management of our service and playing records, and the website.
Jo has also given up time to manage various teams over the past five years. Jo received her 15 year badge in 2019. We wish Jo all the best and thank her for the 18 years she spent giving up time to help run the club.
We welcome back Rachel Foster (from parental leave) into the role of Secretary and Marie Lawrence will step into the role of Vice President.
